she was one of those
take
your shoes
off before you come into the house
kind of people.
well mannered,
well
educated, with good morals,
and values.
a good citizen
to boot.
not once did i ever see
spinach between her teeth.
she voted whenever there was
an election
to be had.
she exercised
and ate well. a vegetarian,
i suppose.
she had two cats,
and one
dog.
she went to church.
she danced and sang in the choir.
so it surprised me
when i saw in the paper
that she robbed
a liquor store
and was involved in a high
speed chase
down the boulevard.
