closed my favorite hamburger

joint

along the boulevard.

Three Guys and a Girl.

i've been eating

there forever, but

it's been

robbed a thousand times

despite

security cameras and watch

dogs.

the place

has been looted

for ketchup

and mustard and napkins,

long red straws,

over and over

again.

last week six pounds

of American cheese, singles,

were stolen

from the fridge in back.

and the employees

were tied up

and left in the cold.

the cops sort of shrug,

and say oh well.

time to make burgers

on your own.
