or more,
my mother was unable to see
clearly.
her glasses
were gone.
mysteriously lost in transit
from one
senior home
to the next, then into
hospice.
i had never seen her once
my entire life
without her specs.
and now her world
was underwater.
God knows what she could
see at the end.
our faces a blur.
were we sons, or daughters,
husbands,
friends?
i'll ask her at some point,
when i see
her again.
