that's my plan

what are your goals, she asks you.

what's your five
year plan.

where do you want to be five
years from now.

tell me.

I look at her and smile.

I got nothing, I tell her.
I stopped planning for the future
a long time ago, especially when
it involves other people.

in five minutes i'm getting
a cup
of coffee and going to work.

beyond that is a mystery.

that doesn't seem too wise, she
says, shaking her head.

we all need plans, goals. something
to look forward to.

I look forward to a hard
day at work,
then a nap and dinner.

and hopefully seeing lula belle
on the weekend.

that's my plan. you have yours.
I have mine.
