how quickly things change.
the houses go up,
a building that wasn't there yesterday
is now
ten stories high.
the roads are different than
they were
a week ago.
we look at one another and ask,
where are we.
new stores, new restaurants.
boutiques
and shops with strange names.
even the people look different.
where do we park?
our town is not the same
after just a week away
on vacation.
