it's hard
to concentrate
with this bird pecking
at the window
wanting
bread
again.
every morning it's the same.
he pays
a visit and i set out
a few
crumbs of old
bread
onto the sill. what will
he do
when i'm gone?
and worse yet, what
will i do
if he decides
to fly
away for good?
