criminals always need drinks

and gas.

snacks like peanut

butter crackers.

we pour ourselves

some whiskey,

which is actually iced tea,

because that's what

detectives do, then

light up cigarettes

and begin

to cough.

we smash them out 

on yesterdays dinner

plates.

someone suggests that

we open a window.

we make a timeline

under the dining room light.

then order a pizza

or two.

it's going to be a long night.
