an assistant, i'd tell her
what to
do all the time.
i'd have a list of things
for her to
accomplish
by the end of the day
or night.
she'd be at
the ready when the bell
dinged.
standing at attention
by my side.
if i had an itch,
for example,
i'd give her the exact
geographical
location on my back
that needed to be scratched
and tell
her not soft,
but hard, dig in.
