beautiful
and savage about a snake
slithering
across the grassy
yard,
the stripes
the colors, red and yellow,
some
green.
the black eyes,
the open
jaw
with dagger teeth,
so pink.
is nature warning us
to beware
of beauty,
of beautiful things,
is that what we're to think?
