likes to watch television

the cop shows,

the dogs are chasing

criminals
as they jump
over chain link fences

trousers
half down,
but ever since the news
reports came out
of Springfield
Ohio concerning
the influx
of seventeen thousand
immigrants
with different dietary needs,
he runs and hides
when he
sees me in the kitchen
sharpening
a knife
with the oven on,
and the big roasting pan
on the counter.
