with his pockets bulging
off the profit
of day laborers,
builds a rocket and goes
an inch
above the atmosphere with
his chosen pals
he waves
back to earth, with
the joy of a child
on his first ferris wheel.
look at me, he
yells down.
he's happy.
he's an astronaut now.
what will tomorrow bring?
feed the poor?
doubtful.
