i was going to write a poem

i was going to write

a poem

today

but instead i baked a cake.

a chocolate

cake, with cream cheese

icing

and sprinkles.

two layers.

i set it on the sill to 

cool down.

everyone will like this cake.

which is better

than a poem,

a poem that not everyone

will like and want

a copy to carry home.
