the mystery

I like a good mystery
as long
as i'm not part of it.

a good movie, a who done it.
a good book
by the fire
or late night in bed.

I don't want to know the ending
too soon.

I want to be fooled by the words,
tricked
and led

to an inevitable, but unknown
end.

just don't put me in the middle
of some
mystery, some muddled plot
of deception
and lies.

I like it clear, this life,
from start to finish, though

it never really is.
