i move the table
an inch
to the left, then move it back
to where it was.
i dim the lights,
then make them brighter.
i put a vase
of flowers on the mantel
then
move them to the window
sill.
i hang a picture.
i change my mind and take it
down.
i open the window
a few inches,
then close it.
i slide the chair over to the
middle,
then back towards the wall,
i sit in it.
things are not quite where
i want them
to be, but i'm getting there,
honest
i really am.
