next door if there's
any
protest
marches going on downtown
today.
the weather is perfect
for a rally
of some sort.
he's out walking his dog,
that he named Greta Thunberg.
a small wiry mutt
that bites and barks
at everyone.
i have the day off
and i feel
like yelling
or carrying a sign
in front of the white house.
there must be something
going on,
women's rights,
a war,
babies, global warming.
inflation,
general malaise,
disease, something?
nah, he
says,
we got nothing right now.
spring is best.
