falls,
the stage is cleared.
the actors
have taken
their final bows and wiped
the grease paint
from their faces.
it's back to the real
world now,
where there is no
script, no lines
to read,
no director
telling you how hard
to laugh,
how long to cry,
or when to bleed.
the hall is emptied
as the lights go up,
and everyone,
exits onto the dark
cold street.
