wolves we were,
and television,
and what we learned
on the street.
the parents were busy
with their
own drama filled lives.
work and babies,
keeping
the house afloat,
making sure there
was something,
anything
to eat.
no words of wisdom,
no pondering
of our futures,
no planning a path
for us,
schools or talents,
or otherwise.
just grow up
and stay out of trouble.
get a job.
everything will be fine.
