seemed like a good idea

we went down

to see

the cherry blossoms.

but everyone else had the same

idea.

there was no where

to park,

so we circled the monuments,

got stuck in a detour,

waved on by cops.

tomorrow

it was going to rain

and be windy,

the trees would

be bare again. this was

our last chance.

but we were running out

of gas,

then finally gave up,

going home

to look at the blossoming

tree in our yard,

which was beautiful

enough.

in the fall we have plans

to go

to the mountains,

to look at

the foliage,

what could go wrong?
