ten inches away

alone

reading, 

alone

on a walk

deep into the woods,

or biking

on the trail.

alone listening to music,

or watching

a show,

alone eating,

alone

at the movies,

alone

at work, alone writing,

alone in my head,

and yet never 

ever lonely,

i only felt that

way

when you were here,

ten inches away,

sleeping

in my bed.
