screams of police cars
and ambulances.
they sound close, then
eventually
far away.
they become part of your
dream,
part of your next day.
wondering
what happened.
who died,
who survived.
you'll never know
what it was all about,
like many things.
you just go on,
and soon forget
it ever happened.
