our bellies
after a meal.

in the hall mirror.
our shirt has popped
a button,
and the pants are split
down the middle,
but we can still see
our shoes
and tie them when need be.
so that's good. but
maybe it's time
to put the donut down
and say hello
to lettuce, retire
the idea of constant
snacking and three meals.
