you laugh
hold onto them.
they are lights in the world,
guiding the way
down a long dark path.
usually they have been
through more
suffering than you'd
like to know
or care to ask.
but they've found a way
to make life
work.
they see the humor
whether light, or black
in most everything,
themselves included.
