from pain. whether drink
or drug
sex
or gambling, or some other
sort of
self indulgent
dark habit
that helps us handle
the day.
and the nights are even worse
when the storm
arrives.
at times you even see
the priests
out back, smoking a cigarette
and shaking their
heads.
