we let him go

he's grown into his own
skin.
his own set of bones.
he's me,
he's her.
he found his way
to the left coast.
brazen and bold
to leave
his home to find his
own gold.
to sift the streams
of his own life.
he has no fear, there
are no apron
strings
to keep him tied.
we hold him tight,
but we've let him go.
