These Are Better Days

sleep comes easily now.
food taste better,
life is once
more interesting.
there is meaning and hope.
the aches and pains have
subsided.
the headaches are gone.
friendships
are stronger.
poetry is written,
books are read.
movies are enjoyed.
you see now what love
really is, not
what it pretended to be.
colors are rich.
there is joy and laughter
in the house.
there is peace
beyond all understanding.
what's changed?
