could i live without them,
and they

me.
apparently so.
but
what was all the joy
about,
the gatherings,
the dinners
and drinks, the long
phone calls.
the laughs.
we enjoyed each other's
company,
respected
each other's
beliefs.
was it really all a lie,
could friendships be
so easily
dismissed
by voting left or right?
