there are madmen

and mad

women too.

you see in their eyes.

you don't have to go far

to find

someone

talking to themselves

on the street corner,

or rattling

the cages at the zoo.

coffee shops,

and churches have their

share as well.

they're digging through

garbage cans

and mumbling

to themselves, stuck

in a vague hell.

sometimes i

turn on the tv and there

they are

in the halls of congress,

rambling on

and on

in their own strange

language,

more gibberish, as well.
