to go the movies in the middle
of the day
when
work was slow,
when
i needed to get out of the cold,
or away
from myself.
a double
feature would
make my day
even if i'd seen both movies
time and time
again.
the popcorn,
the drink.
the back row in the middle
of the aisle
with my feet up.
the long matinee.
it gave me time
to not
think.
