the boredom, the grey
monotony
of so many
days,
the repetition of food
and sleep,
of waking
up at three in the morning.
facing the mirror
and seeing
the arrival of old age.
despite
the sameness of each
season,
each holiday
and birthday.
despite it all
we want more, not less.
