give me the old, the used,
the forgotten.
something high
off the back shelf.
give me the stamp
and envelope,
the land line phone,
the clerk at the bank,
the soda fountain,
the pay phone,
give me books,
newspapers,
the milkman,
the clothesline and
the pledge of allegiance
and our father
before class.
give me the chalkboard,
the paddle,
the dunce hat.
give me real meat
and milk from
a cow, not
some plant,
not some almond crap.
give me all
of that.
