but to bring some home with us
when we leave
the beach,
no matter how
hard
we wash off
the granules,
or brush, or sweep it
away,
it's in our ears,
our eyes,
our shoes, our hair.
the clothes that we wear.
it always
comes home
with us.
anxious like we were,
to get away.
