the bumper,
save the whales,
coexist,
Yellowstone Park,
eat kale,
is a small car.
a Prius perhaps.
a democrat
i'm sure.
on the roof is
a wobbly mattress.
loosely held by twine.
the woman,
has her arm out the window
trying to
steady it.
the man at the wheel
is doing the same
from his side.
it's windy.
it's cold.
but there's a sale on.
i wonder
if they'll ever
make it home, and if
they do,
will either of them
be in the mood to break
it in.
