what matters most

we speak of what we need

in terms

of food

and shelter, the basic 

necessities.

a roof,

a pair of shoes.

a shovel

to dig with.

a wheel barrow to push

and pull.

we need the earth

to respond

to our hands.

we need rain.

but without someone

beside you.

someone to love,

and loves you in return,

it all seems

to be in vain.
