a toothbrush,
keys
and money.
phone.
i help her with her luggage,
lifting it
into the trunk.
three changes
for each
day,
and one for each night.
she has long
dresses on hangers.
i put her bag
of shoes in the back
seat
along with a thermos
of coffee,
bottles
of water, assorted snacks
for the one-hour drive
out of town.
all my clothes are
reversable,
even the belt,
from brown to black,
so i'm set.
