crowded as you go to vote early.
still
there's a line, but it
moves along
quickly.
people are polite,
both left and right.
they talk
and smile,
stamp their feet
and rub
their hands in the cold.
there's no rabble rousers
there.
no flag burning nut cakes.
this is what most Americans
are like.
peaceful and able
to agree to disagree
before
casting their
vote, then
going for coffee as they
walk around the lake.
