the peace treaty about

maybe three before the next

shot

is fired,

the next

bomb ignited.

before the next terrorist

attack occurs.

hatred is

in the blood, passed

on from

one generation

to the next

from father to son,

mother

to daughter.

with no end in sight.

and yet,

we hope it holds,

our fingers are crossed,

we pray.
