i think,
as i sit on the park bench
watching
grown men
and women, children fishing
at the man
made lake.
i watch them sliding worms
onto hooks
and casting out
into the murky water,
sinking their lines
with small lead weights.
maybe they don't know
that Safeway has fish now.
