circling the lake one last time
i need a new
lake
to walk around. this
one is
cluttered
with yesterdays.
fond
and cold memories.
every
season i've found
it welcoming,
but no more.
enough.
enough with this
old trail.
i need a new path
to the waterfall.

the familiar
a hair brained idea
when cows run free
where are we going to keep all these people?
talk to the hand
take me to your leader
flash back while lying in bed
the rising of bread
opening the windows
what's the worst that could happen?
the end of the world as we know it
you're not gonna hurt her, are you?
no more little don rickles
the chemistry teacher
don't answer that
sage advice
i don't trust you
the indigo earth
communion
lingering in the past with coffee
sweat pants and crocs
under a spell
dumb bells
cigarettes
she sends me a picture of a flat tire
i forgive you for whatever it was you did
you're overdue again for x-rays
the disappointments
the splinter
two scoops of rocky road on a sugar cone
a movie star death
walking without shoes
closed at dark
the tv guide
not enough aspirin
the mailman's pouch
small bumps in the road
another brown egg
the villages
hospice 101
my new sailboat
flying in for the weekend
limitations
the carousel horse
ready for my close up
it's the olives in me
avoiding hard labor
same as it ever was
don't be on their menu
bring something to eat or drink to the picnic
the scary ex-girlfriend
bird brains
animal children
it changed my life
political hair
unprivileged
cleaning the ice box
cleaning the mail box
monkey uncle
muscle less
they can't let it go
i need some cutlery over here, please
who are these people?
forever young
it's what i expected
coins in the fountain
dark attachments
retirement plans
the first time
another town all the same
packaging
saving all the fool's gold
the best wedding ever
a picnic in the park
a short poor time
on a roll
no funny bones
find a home
more daily news
jimmy and sally
lamenting a lack of dinosaurs
when the lake evaporates
the jackhammer blues
do you have any references?
where did everyone go?
the daily crime report
a veritable grouch
water lilies
a failure to communicate
paper and pen
i stop and look back
leaving it all behind
caught up in some wind
the brown bag lunch
the campus hunger strike
the handy man
the cat is pleased with herself
hot dog
the weight of you
that kind of house is gone now
