restaurant goes silent,
the staff,
the waiters,
the customers at their
tables,
even the kitchen
goes quiet.
not a pot
or pan can be heard,
not a rattle,
or burst of steam.
you can hear crickets
chirping.

a fork and knife,
not chopsticks
