needing a place to go

in a moment

of boredom, i take out my shoes

and line them up.

i get the shoe shine

kit from

under the sink

and go at it with

brown and black tins

of polish,

the chamois the cloth,

the brush.

new laces for some.

now i just need a place

to go

to wear them.
