full
of red winged black
birds,
yellow
hummingbirds,
and blue jays
on the fence
waiting their turn.
the grey
squirrels on the ground
scavenging what
falls.
in come cardinals,
and pigeons, sparrows
and gulls.
it's crazy how much
they eat.
another five pounds
of seed,
another week.
will they come when
i take it
down.
will they remember
life
so easy. not unlike us,
most won't.
