i've learned
my lessons the hard way
through experience,
now i break out the magnifying
glass
and study the tiny letters
and numbers
typed upon
the jar, the box, the bag.
i tell you to come closer
and let me look
into your eyes
and read the warning labels
on you.
we won't be fooled again.
