the quilt

she said i'd love
to show you my quilt
sometime. i'm almost
finished. two years in
the making. you yawn
when you realize
that she really is
talking about a quilt,
and say okay. wake
me when it's done,
or better yet, stretch it
out across me when
i'm old and the cold
winds come.
