the little things

you break open
an ice tray
and pour it into
the plastic box
on the door, but
one cube slips
out, that you forget
and leave it
melting on
the floor.and when
you slip
upon it, as you
carry your
dinner out
into the other room,
and fly
into mid air,
you think about all
the other little
things that you've
neglected in your life
and wonder, if
they too will catch
up to you.
