no cars are on fire.

no statues toppled.

no one is looting,

or rioting

or spray-painting hatred

on the walls.

there is only prayer

and vigils

for someone who has died,

murdered

in cold blood,

who committed

no crime.

how strange the behavior

of a faith filled side.
