things you've read to your

children, 

books on the shelves

of schools, but

look

deep enough

into the closets

and you'll find empty

bottles

of whiskey,

wine,

beer cans disposed.

condoms

and candles.

cigarettes. polaroid cameras

with the film

exposed.

during the long hours

of not writing,

there's little else

one can do, but get in trouble.
