she was going to grow
strawberries
in her
back yard,
and sell them on the corner.
i'm not joking
she said.
you'll see.
you'll see.
but next spring she was gone,
a tiny
bump found.
and now
when i walk by
her house,
i see the strawberries
are out
there
along fence, growing
wildly,
going strong.
