another planet or star,

some far away

galaxy,

as they look down upon us,

do they see

that not everyone is crazy

here.

that there

are good people too.

sane

and reasonable?

not at war

and full of hate and pain.

do they laugh at us,

at the riches

we have,

the blessings of an ocean,

and wildlife,

flowers?

do they not see the smiles

on children's faces

as they bite

into the cold red fruit

of a summer

watermelon?
