cherry blossoms in bloom

it's been a while

since

we've heard news about

the war.

about the death

count.

we haven't seen a photo

of buildings

bombed,

or children

on the street with little

or no clothes on,

starving. all quiet on

the eastern front.

but spring is here

and we have

cherry blossoms

to go see

downtown, maybe lunch

at Old Ebbitt's 

grill.

we refuse to be bored.
