used to kill animals
then hang
them
on their walls,
in the den where
the gun
racks are.
the heads
of the great beasts.
cut off
and stuffed.
rhinos and lions,
elephants
with tusks.
all day long they stare
back at you.
reminding you of
how brave you
were
with your gun,
hiding in
the brush.
